There are rainbows at your fingertips

The advice…

There are rainbows at your fingertips. All you have to do is look for the light and see the colours around you.

Where it’s coming from…

The other day my daughter was playing with a tub of putty. She pushed her fingers into it and noticed her fingerprints. Then she asked me to press my fingers into the putty. There were my fingerprints near hers.

As she analysed them she said: “Ma, even you have rainbows on your fingertips.” I smiled. Not only because through her seven-year-old eyes any curved line is a rainbow. But also because her words left ripples.

In her view, we have rainbows at our fingertips.

Wow.

Yes, we do.

As with everything in life it’s about looking, seeing and - most of all, appreciating. Dark moments will happen - some darker than others. But we must try not to get sucked into that darkness for too long. It’s not easy. But with the right support we can slowly turn on a light.

And if we manage to shine that light on a rainy day - we can even see the rainbow.
